Meet Mychael King
Operational Leadership. Measurable Results. A Practical Approach to Change.
Mychael King is a healthcare operational leader and the developer of THE IDEA OF CHANGE™, a methodology designed to evaluate whether the conditions necessary for organizational change are present.
With more than a decade of experience across healthcare, leadership, athletics, and education, Mychael understands that successful change requires more than a strong vision. Organizations must also develop their people, turn learning into practice, and establish the systems needed to sustain progress.
His work is grounded in a practical question:

What conditions must exist for real change to become possible—and sustainable?
Leadership Shaped by Real Operational Experience
Mychael currently serves in healthcare operational leadership, where he is responsible for leading employees, managing performance, addressing workflow challenges, and helping teams navigate operational change.
His experience includes:

-
Leading teams in complex, high-demand healthcare environments
-
Coaching employees through performance and behavioral change
-
Improving productivity, quality, and operational consistency
-
Supporting claim-edit and revenue-cycle improvement efforts
-
Managing workflow transitions and process implementation
-
Building accountability while developing employee capability
-
Working across departments to address operational barriers
-
Helping employees remain effective during uncertainty and change
This experience has shown Mychael that change rarely fails because an organization lacks ideas. Change becomes difficult when people, learning, processes, leadership, and accountability are not aligned around the desired result.

The Origin of Mychael’s Approach to Change
Mychael’s understanding of change was first shaped through athletics, where preparation, environment, feedback, development, and disciplined execution determine whether potential becomes performance.
His early experience in health, wellness, and corrective exercise taught him that knowing what to do does not automatically produce transformation. People need the appropriate conditions, support, repetition, feedback, and structure to turn knowledge into consistent behavior.
That lesson followed Mychael into healthcare leadership.
As he began leading employees through performance expectations, workflow changes, and operational challenges, he recognized that the same principle applies to organizations: potential does not become performance by accident. The environment must support the desired change.
Developer of THE IDEA OF CHANGE™
Mychael developed THE IDEA OF CHANGE™ to help leaders examine the organizational conditions that influence whether a desired change can take hold.
The methodology evaluates change through four interconnected pillars:

Innovation — Can We Create?
Evaluates whether the organization has sufficient awareness, vision, creativity, psychological safety, and willingness to pursue a different future.

Development — Can We Grow?
Examines whether people, capabilities, relationships, resources, and the working environment are being developed to support the desired change.

Education — Can We Learn?
Determines whether necessary information is becoming shared understanding, improved behavior, and consistent organizational practice.

Administration — Can We Manage?
Evaluates whether leadership, systems, accountability, measurement, communication, and stewardship can implement and sustain the change.
THE IDEA OF CHANGE™ does not claim to predict the future with certainty. It helps leaders identify whether the conditions that increase the probability of successful change are present—and where intervention may be needed.
Education and Leadership Development
Mychael holds a Master of Science in Health Services Administration, providing him with a foundation in healthcare operations, organizational leadership, administration, and systems thinking.

MakeRealChange
Through MakeRealChange, Mychael teaches accessible principles related to leadership, learning, development, organizational change, and human transformation.

MakeRealChange serves as the educational platform surrounding his work. It helps leaders understand the principles behind transformation while THE IDEA OF CHANGE™ provides the methodology for evaluating and addressing change conditions inside organizations.
His teaching explores questions such as:

-
What makes meaningful change possible?
-
Why does information fail to produce transformation?
-
How do people develop the capacity to carry greater responsibility?
-
What role do leadership and environment play in performance?
-
How can organizations move from intention to sustainable practice?
Mychael’s Leadership Philosophy
Mychael believes that people perform best when they receive clarity, development, appropriate support, honest feedback, and meaningful accountability.

His role is not to create dependency on a consultant or coach. His goal is to help leaders understand their organizational conditions, strengthen their internal capabilities, and establish the infrastructure necessary to sustain improvement.

Real change becomes possible when vision, people, learning, and systems work together.
